1. Muslim's walked off to protest religious freedom. There are too many different religions to give a break for every single one.

2. No it doesn't surprises me because people are strong about their faith. They want to do everything they are supposed to do.

3. I think they should let it go as it is. If the workers want to walk off, let them walk off. There will be more workers in the future. I think this because if you let one religion take a break and get certain holidays off, then every single religion will have to be the same, making too many days off.

4. They all need to learn one language, and realize what they are talking about.

5. i think we just need to have a base language, where everyone will understand. I don't think we need to be more sensitive because if we are sensitive to one, we are sensitive to all and there are too many religions to do that.

1. The main intercultural conflict was that people from one cultures didn't understand the other cultures. They wanted their holidays off, and of course that could lead to everyone wanting their holidays off. The misunderstandings is the languages, like that one guy got yelled at in a language he didn't know, so he didn't know what to do.

2. It kind of did surprise me that this was taking place in NE because I didn't think we had that big of a cultural diversity.

3. They should try to compromise with the workers. That way they don't lose their staff and most people will be happy working there.

4. They can try to speak either English or the language of the person they're around.

5. More than likely they will need to be more diverse and cultural sensitive.

1. The main intercultural conflict was that the people didn't understand the other cultures. The people with different holidays wanted them off but then everybody else wanted them too.

2. No because the whole U.S. is multicultural.

3. I think it would be best if they gave everyone the same breaks and holidays. Some steps that they have taken are making other ethic groups aware of their practices or beliefs. They should compromise because that is a large sum of the population that works for them.

4. The workers can read about their ethic background or religious beliefs and try to understand why they get more whatever.

5. I think they need to be more cultural sensitivity because people will always have different opinions, ideas, religion, and beliefs. But having a base language would help a lot.

1. Its about religion and what to do in the working world. Time off for activities.

2. No, people come all around the world to settle in the USA.

3.Learn about the religion itself. They learned about what they want time off. Compromise with the workers, in order to keep descent workers and not judge them on religion.

4. Time their breaks to help all the people.

5. Interculture communication, sure it would be great to help everyone out but it would be very hard to constantly go around people demands.

1. The main intercultural conflict happening here was concerning religious freedom. Many Swift workers, all Muslim and most Somali, protested for prayer time during the holy month of Ramadan. The misunderstandings between the ethnic groups is their different views of importance/unimportance of religion.

2. This type of conflict surprised me because I never had any idea of how many different cultures there were from so many different places working in one plant.

3. I think that JBS should allow some time for praying to be considerate to the workers' religious beliefs. Some of the steps they have taken already were diversity training amongst most of their people as union reps. They should compromise with the workers, because taking away someone's job because of their cultural religious beliefs is not really right at all.

4. Workers can be more cooperative in understanding the employers' thoughts until they make a final decision concerning their prayer time.

5. I think cultural sensitivity is very important. It is what makes a free country like the United States open to all people of all ethnic groups.

1. The main intercultural conflict happening at JBS Swift & Co. is that cultures are misunderstanding each other in many ways. One of the biggest ways is the many different religions and how they are celebrated.

2. I had no clue that there were Somali and Sudanese people in Nebraska. So yes, it does surprise me.

3. I believe that the company shouldn't have to fluctuate their hours just because of their workers religions. If the people working for the company have an issue about not getting breaks for certain religions then that is there problem and they should work elsewhere.

4. If you are going to live in the United States then you have been learn our stinking language. We speak English!!!

5. I think our country needs to be aware of other cultures and their religions. But I also believe that we shouldn't have to alter our business decisions based upon our workers religions. We can always find other people to work for us.
