1. I've improved on my organization skills and now I'm more prepared and mentally ready when I speak.

2. I could have improved on working ahead of time on things because I felt like I was being pushed at the last minute to do things. I could have improved on this if I would have less things to do and less homework after school.

3. I liked the persuasive unit because that's what I'm doing for competitive speech, so I got a chance to work hard on my actual speech.

4. I didn't like the demonstration speeches that much because it's kind of hard to explain things when the people can't do it with you. I think it could be improved if people could go along with the speaker.

5. I think we covered the necessary communication skills we needed. In this class, I think there should be more emphasis on the speeches with a little less on the notes and even less on the test. Many of the skills are picked up as the students try them out instead of being tested.

6. I think the projects themselves were good because each student had to do their own thing, but the group work did always go as planned. Some students in the groups worked harder than the others and many didn't do anything at all to help.

7. I think technology is incorporated well, but another idea would be to have the students record themselves speaking and just present the videos to the class.

1. I think I improved upon confidence and being comfortable speaking in front of people through the many times that we were required to speak.

2. I think I could have improved upon purposeful walking and volume. It might have helped to practice the speech more before I presented it.

3. The most interesting was the bag speech because it was interesting to learn more about people. The most useful unit for me was persuasive because it helps me in extemp.

4. The least useful and uninteresting was the note taking, although it was better than most classes. There really just isn't a way to improve that though.

5. I wish that would have done more special occasion speeches because they are the most likely speeches that we will have to present in the future. I think that the balance of speeches and tests are good.

6. They all worked.

7. I guess just encourage students to use powerpoint more for their visuals.

1. I mostly think I improved on eye contact and pauses, because after doing several speeches to a familiar audience it became more comfortable. I also think I learned to understand where pauses should be used to create emphasis.

2. I think I could have improved on creating an outline. It still takes me a long time to decide on what information I want in a speech.

3. The most useful unit this year this me was the persuasive speech. I didn't really understand how they were put together before.

4. I found all of the units both interesting and useful. All of them helped me understand more what people are doing at speech meets, and I know what I need to work on.

5. There was a good balance between tests and giving speeches, but the class was most interesting when the whole class was working together. Otherwise, everything seemed to be covered.

6. Working as a class and when you gave a demonstrative speech worked the best for me.

7. Technology could be used more for a visual aid, but otherwise there isn't a lot to do with speeches.

1) I learned to reduce verbal fillers.
2) Less reading, I could have practiced more.
3) Special Occasions, because it will be useful to me and it was fun.
4) The persuasive one, because it is one I won't need to use ever. I can't think of any way it can be improved.
5) I like debate, so I wish we did that. I'd say giving speeches/ tests were the right balance, but some of the tests were very confusing.
6) Taking notes was boring, I wish there was a better way to learn stuff than notes. I don't know what didn't work.
7) No, almost everything we did had technology

7) Not really.

I had a lot of fun in this class. You're a great teacher. Thank you! (: , Kasey

1. I think I really improved on speaking in front of others. I gained confidence, energy, and more eye contact to make my speeches into conversations with the audience.

2. I could have had more emotion, definitely in the persuasive speech, to make my speeches more interesting and passionate. I could have practiced speeches more in front of others before the class.

3. I thought the demonstration unit was the most fun and most useful because I was able to pick a topic that was interesting and important to me. I know that I will use the skills of showing how to use something in the future.

4. The persuasive unit was the least interesting to me. I didnt feel as confident in it as the other speeches.

5. I thought it was a good balance. We learned about the different speeches then gave one to have experience.

6. The best ones that worked for me were examples. When the teacher and other students were able to show me how it was done, I was able to do the same with my own added touches.

7. I was fun to do the infomercials on imovie. I think it would be good to do more of those in groups.

I enjoyed this class cause it was interesting and fun! And I learned many skills to help me in the future and improve public speaking. Thanks!!

1. On the bag speech I really just put something together last minute without a lot of thought. But by the time of the persuasive speech I learned how to outline a speech and learned internal organization in speeches.

2. I think I could have done a better job using an outline and moving around the room while I gave my speeches.

3. I especially liked the informative speeches, because we could learn something and then present it to the class in an organized speech.

4. I didn't like the intercultural unit as much as the other units.

5. I liked giving speeches better than the tests and notes just because we got to be up in front of the class and more active.

6. I didn't like doing notes, but I think that it might have been the most successful way to show the information. I did like role-playing and how we would review at the beginning.

7. Maybe if we put more emphasis on visual aids we could make use different types of technologies to present them.

I WILL MISS THIS CLASS A LOT!

1. I think that I improved most on speaking in public in front of other people.
2. Better vocals.
3. Extempt. I liked it a lot and it enforced me to procrastinate and think on my feet.
4. Drama. It was boring and I don't like to give drama.
5. No. It's about right.
6. Extemporaneous delivery. Long periods of preparations.
7. No.

1. I believe I improved a lot in public speaking, especially with organization, nervousness, and conversational style. I think that all of the times we practiced and performed a speech I improved.

2. I think I could have improved even more on gestures and being more conversational. Sometimes I just memorize my speech and it gets monotone and I'm talking at the audience, not with them. Just becoming more comfortable speaking in front of people would help this.

3. The most interesting unit that we did was job interview unit. I thought it was interesting to see how a real job interview is conducted and helped me to prepare for the real world.

4. The unit on small groups was the least interesting because we had already done that in the previous year. I also don't really like the project we did because you usually don't turn your ideas into a reality. This unit could be improved by doing a different topic for our small groups.

5. I can't really think of any other skills we could use for communication. I do think that we could use less tests/notes and more speeches in this class.

6. I liked when we got to work with partners and had fun projects like the job interview and the partner biography speeches, but sometimes it's nice to work on your own. I didn't think the small group project worked very good. It was boring and not as fun as other projects.

7. We incorporate technology quite a bit in the class, so I can't think of anything we could do better with technology.

1. I've over come most of my stage fright.

2. structure, procrastination basically, not really.

3. probably the demonstration speech, because I'll probably present some of my inventions in my career.

4. the informative speech, because I'm really attached to my opinions and have a hard time not taking sides.

5. another sort of demonstration speech, but maybe mixed with a persuasion speech.

6. I think that using encouragement as a strategy was very effective.

7. maybe make an imovie including the speaker in front of the camera, that way they could show us things that are hard to get in school like guns large objects etc.
